UCLan Event Management undergraduates are offered a wide range of work experience opportunities during the course of their studies.Lewis Ray is currently on a 48-week work placement at Team Spirit where he is gaining valuable insights into the industry.
His responsibilities include pre and post-event preparation, problem solving, wages and staffing, plus he has also been involved with a number of events for some high profile clients.
In doing so he has embraced his inner thespian and can often be found taking the role of a schoolteacher, schoolboy, paparazzi, Beefeater, pirate or security in keeping with the event's theme.
He commented: "I have learnt so much, including team-building, events and I even now know how to wire a sound desk. Doing a placement is imperative and doing one at Team Spirit is the best experience you can have."
Lewis returns to UCLan in September for the final year of his degree.
