Events trio grab Union awards

Three UCLan Event Management students are celebrating after seeing their volunteering efforts rewarded at the UCLan Students' Union Awards 2015.

Aimee Cairns (left), Harriet Speakman and Gracie Donoghue were recognised for their work on a variety of projects, all designed to enhance the student experience at the university.

The trio joined over 250 UCLan students at the ceremony which celebrates the excellent work carried out by volunteers across the campus.

Lee Mac, Students' Union President, said, "It was great to see so many students get involved with the Union this past year. So many amazing projects fuelled by volunteers made that happen.

"Without the students getting involved the SU wouldn't be here. It was a great evening to celebrate all the success of students from different cohorts on campus. The evening itself was phenomenal with such a great turn out.

"There were lots of cheers and a few tears, but overall it was a great success. Thank you to all students who have got involved with the union this year – it's been a pleasure."
