Food for thought

First year Event Management and International Hospitality Management students enjoyed a 'meal experience' as part of their studies.

This is designed to give students the opportunity to participate in an event as a customer and to begin to appreciate the importance of food and drink to events. The experience started with a drinks reception (soft drinks of course) and then the 'reveal' of the room to create the ‘wow factor’.

The students sampled a variety of foods including panzanella, moussaka and jambalaya, not to mention some delicious desserts, and took part in a food-related quiz.

In addition to enjoying some excellent food provided by UCLan’s Catering Services, the meal experience gave students the chance to network and team-build.

We have very strong links with our Catering Services department, who help deliver the practical aspects of the Event Operations and Hospitality Operations modules in the kitchens at Foster Building and also in Scholars Restaurant.
