Brett Spence, Shannon Noon, Amie Birkett and Samantha Elwood have joined a trio of undergraduates from the University of Huddersfield, to undertake a year-long placement with Oldham-based events specialists Team Spirit.
Laura Derbyshire, Events and Revenue Director at Team Spirit, said: "Our students will be fully immersed in the day-to-day running of the business, contributing hugely across all areas.
"Each of them will not only experience planning and management at our HQ, but they will frequently be on location helping deliver events with our team of event managers, operations managers and event coordinators."
Team Spirit has agreed a three-year link-up with UCLan's event management course. In addition to taking students onto its graduate programme each year, they sponsor a graduate excellence prize, whilst CEO Ian Taylor delivers guest lectures, sharing his industry knowledge and experience with students.
Senior Lecturer Rod Train said: "We really value our partnership with Team Spirit because it adds an important real-life industry context to our event management degree course.
"Work placements at Team Spirit are always popular, as students receive hands-on experience and a thorough grounding in practical event management which enhances their future career prospects."
